Once we started telling people that we were going to Poland, we suddenly realized how many Polish people we actually knew – 3. Okay, well it’s not that much, but more than I thought I would know. And all of them volunteered GREAT suggestions for us to do, see, and eat. However, the main reason why we decided to do a stop in Toruń was because it was Jay’s coworker’s hometown and she was meeting us there to play tour guide for us! Jay also works with a company in Toruń and we paid the office a visit too.
We spent 3 days in Toruń and it was a whirlwind of activity. Jay’s coworker and husband took us all around, and the days proved to be short as we spent most of the mornings having breakfast and chatting at her sister’s house and then the sun would set at about 3:30pm!
The best part for me in Toruń was that it started to snow on our last days there. People think I’m crazy for wanting to play in snow, but I’ve lived in Hawaii all my life and I don’t get to do it at all! I’m just glad that I don’t have to live in it for the entire winter season!
